The first person bought half of the 15 ducks, which is 7½ ducks, and another ½ duck.
So he bought 8 ducks in total and Jack is left with 7 ducks.
The second person bought half of the remaining 7 ducks, which is 3½ ducks, and another ½ duck.
So he bought 4 ducks and Jack is left with 3 ducks.
The last person bought half of the remaining 3 ducks, which is 1½ ducks, and another ½ duck.
So the last person bought 2 ducks.
That leaves 1 duck which is bought by the last customer.
