Wear your detective hats and solve this riddle.
The Taylors reported a robbery.
When the detective arrived Mr. Taylor was waiting outside and he said,
“All the wife’s jewels are missing. You’ll want to check inside for fingerprints.”
Mr. Taylor pointing to the broken window glasses outside the house told the detective,
“The burglar presumably entered the house by breaking through the window.”
The detective replied, “That won’t be necessary. There’s been no burglary.”
What made the detective so sure?

If the glass is broken from outside, the glass pieces should have fallen inside the house and not outside.
Mr. Taylor showed the detective the glass pieces outside the house, which means the glass was broken from inside.
So the detective could make out that Mr. Taylor was making the things up.
