A cake has 35 slices.
Harry ate 8 slices;
Jack ate 6 slices;
Dave ate 5 &
Mary ate 9 slices.

What fraction of the cake is remaining?
a) 2/15
b) 1/7
c) 1/5
d) 2/9

If you get the correct answer, share it with your friends on WhatsApp, Facebook and other social networking sites.

Let us find how many pieces were eaten among the friends;

Harry: 8 slices;
Jack: 6 slices;
Dave: 5 &
Mary: 9 slices.

So total number of pieces eaten = 8 + 6 +5 +9 = 28.

There were 35 pieces;

so the number of remaining pieces = 35 – 28 = 7

So the fraction of remaining slices would be 7/35 = 1/5

Answer = 1/5
