Hard Mind Puzzle: When Will Cellar Contain 500 Wine Bottles
Answer this hard mind puzzle. Do not use a calculator to test your speed.
Every morning at 10 am, I receive 20 bottles of wine, all of which are stored in the cellar.
Every evening at 7 pm, I remove 10 bottles of wine from my cellar and give them to my friends.
No wine bottles enter or leave my cellar, except at those two times.
On August 1st at 11 am, I had 400 bottles of wine in my cellar.
On what date did my cellar first contain more than 500 bottles of wine?

Answer:
Since the number of bottles in the cellar is mentioned at 11 am it has already received the bottles for the day and at evening 10 bottles will be removed.
So you actually start adding bottles only from 2nd August when the bottle count would be 390.
So you need 111 (or 120) bottles to make the total above 500.
2nd August 390 + 20 – 10 = 400
So each day 10 bottles will be added.
3rd: 410
4th: 420
5th: 430
6th: 440
7th: 450
8th: 460
9th: 470
10th: 480
11th: 490
On 12th August the cellar will have 510 bottles in the morning as 20 bottles come in.
Hence answer = 510
