Challenge your brain and find the most economic option to make the chain as per the riddle below.


I have 5. metal chain loops.

I want to join them and make a chain out of them.

It involves cutting and then welding the metal loops.

Cutting the ring would cost me Rs. 5 for each cut.

Welding each of the cuts would cost me Rs. 10.

What is the minimum cost to make the chain?

Answer:

To join all the loops in one line to create a chain only 2 loops need to be cut.

so 2nd and fourth loop are cut and 1 and 3 loops are joined using 2nd while 3rd and 5th are joined using the fourth loop.

So in all I will have to make 2 cuts and 2 joints so the cost will be;

2 x 5 + 2 x 10 = 10 + 20 = 30

Answer = Rs.30
