    • the highest is 9909
remove on stick from last digit to change 8 to 9 and give it to the first digit to convert 5 to 9
change the second digit can convert from 0 to 9 by moving a second stick

  1. I came to know abt this puzzle very recently. Well the answer I could see is 11^8115, is top and bottom sticks of zero is moved to form 11. These two sticks are placed and the frame is rotated so as to get 11^8115.

Can you also tell me the smallest possible number ? Surprisingly the answer is not 1.

    • I came to know abt this puzzle very recently. Well the answer I could see is 11^8115. Two sticks from zero, ie. top and bottom sticks of zero is moved to form 11. These two sticks are placed and the frame is rotated so as to get 11^8115.

Can you also tell me the smallest possible number ? Surprisingly the answer is not 1.

Another bigger number we get, if we allow mixed numerals, it Roman and Arabic numeral combination. As shown above, the two sticks taken out of zero are placed to form ‘L’ which in Roman numeral, representing ’50’ Thus the answer could as well be L^8115.

Can you also tell me the smallest possible number ? Surprisingly the answer is not 1.

  5. First of all this is in digital numerical format so it’s impossible to take the top and bottom part of the 0 and keep as 111 coz the template is 8 in digital format..!
If it was just simple numbers in any other format then 511108 is right.
So according to the format in the picture the answer should be 9009

  6. The Highest Possible Number By Moving Only 2 Match Sticks is 800! 3 Tetration

    800! copies of a combined by exponentiation 3, right-to-left.

  7. x=800^(c!)
    rotate 180 degree
use the lower 2 matches of 5 to make a bang to indicate factorial
the upper 2 matches of 5 becomes a c written in superscript, indicating exponentiation
    where c=speed of light=3e8
    log x = c! log(800)
    log log x = log log 800 + log 1 + log 2 + … + log 3e8

i have yet to find another solution that involves AU

    • Very clever. The only issue with this solution is that factorial can only be applied to integer numbers and the speed of light is not one of them.

  8. Actually 5e98 can be the answer.

or 5e100 (if allow different font size of digits)

and one creative answer is 5009! = 8.33356e16358
The “!” made by two sticks with the lower one placed vertically on the table, and so become a dot when looking from the top.

However, I’ve another answer of 0000, which is the biggest (in term of area) number.

  9. First, turn it up-side-down, you get 8005, then move the down-left 2 sticks from 8, you get 9005, then move the two sticks to the down left as 11, you get 11^9005. I don’t know how big it would be, it has exceeded what Excel can do.

  10. We can get the highest number by inverting and then move the two match sticks from the first zero(top and bottom) and show it as 8^1105 (8 to the power of 1105), an infinitely high number

  11. If you can put sticks in between, I think you can put it above them, which makes me think that the answer is 51108 raise to 11, or 81105 raise to 11 ( inverted )

And if the size of the stick doesn’t matter, it could be 11 raise to 51108 or 11 raise to 81105 ( inverted )
