Answer to Number Series Riddle No: 1
This is a really good one. You could crack this in a second if you know what twin primes are. The term \”twin prime\” was coined by Paul Stäckel. Twin primes are pairs of primes of the form (p, p+2).
See in this sequence those nos are given that come in between two consequent prime numbers……for example..
2,3, 5, 7,11, 13,17, 19,23, 29, 31,41, 43,47…. is the sequence of few primes
Now watch this–(3, 5), (5, 7), (11, 13), (17, 19), (29, 31) and (41, 43)….
The numbers between the two prime numbers would fill in the sequence…like the number between 3 and 5 is 4, similarly between 5 and 7 is 6….so on
Now if you keep following the sequence you\’ll come across a pair (137,139), (149,151) and then
(179,181) and so on…..
So the answer would be 138, 150, 180.
The first few twin primes are 4, 6, 12, 18, 30, 42, 60, 72, 102, 108, 138, 150, 180, 192, 198, 228, 240, 270, 282.
Answer to Number Series Riddle No: 2
This is a simple alternating addition and subtraction series. In the first pattern, 3 is added; in the second, 2 is subtracted.
So the answer is 10.
The series would be 7, 10, 8, 11, 9, 12, 10
Answer to Number Series Riddle No: 3
In this series, each number is repeated, and then 13 is subtracted to arrive at the next number.
So since 27 is repeated twice it will be next subtracted by 13 to get the answer as 14.
So the sequence would be 53, 53, 40, 40, 27, 27, 14
